Buffalo Filmmaker Takes Documentary Prize At Illinois Festival

Congratulations to John Paget on winning the award for best documentary film at the Big Muddy Film Festival in Illinois for “Alcatraz Reunion.”Paget moved to Buffalo from Olympia, WA in 2005. I haven’t seen any of his films, but I like that he moved to the Rust Belt from somewhere more fashionable, the Pacific Northwest. I like that he’s proud of living in Buffalo and accepted the city so heartily right away. I’m furious that he introduced the Human iPod to the world before I had the chance, but hey, any press for iPod is good press.The next showing of Alcatraz Reunion will be at the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival at the Riviera Theater in Tonawanda on March 25.
